Eppan on the South Tyrolean Wine Road
Eppan on the Wine Road is the largest wine growing community in South Tyrol and has 1200 hectares of vineyards that stretch from 200 m above sea level to 1600 m above sea level on the ridge of the Mendel.
There are 14,000 inhabitants in the community that includes 9 wine villages and hamlets: St. Michael, Girlan, St. Pauls, Frangart, Missian, Unterrain, Perdonig, Gaid and Montiggl. Situated among the roaming hilly landscape are 180 castles and historical noble manor houses which give the area a special atmosphere.
